FAQ

Q: Where is your childcare center located?

Our centre's location is  strategically located in the complex of Muswellbrook Shire Council on 155 Maitland Street, Muswellbrook. It is on the main road, closed to KFC, Muswellbrook Golf course, and just less than 1 km away from the Muswellbrook Fair.

Q: Is Little Kindy a licensed child care facility?

Yes, Little Kindy Muswellbrook licensed and monitored by the New South Wales Department of Education and Training.  Little Kindy carefully follows all regulations set forth by the Deparment. Little Kindy is also an approved provider for Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR).

Q: Does the Little Kindy facilities have secured entrances?

Yes, Little Kindy has a secured front door that stays locked at all times. It needs a code to enter, staff will be always there to help.

Q: What is the educational level of the teachers?

By regulations, at least 50% of the educators required to meet ratio requirements must have or be working at least an approved Diploma level qualification. We also have an access to the Early childhood Teacher to ensure that the minimum requirement can be met. 

Q: How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?

We take great care to communicate with parents on a daily basis at drop off and pick up times. Little Kindy does two evaluations per year and offers a parent conference each time. Daily sheets are sent home each day with pertinent information from the day. Parents are welcome to schedule a teacher meeting any time they want to speak about their child, or any issue in their child’s classroom.

Q: Can Little Kindy administer medication?

Yes. Little Kindy has met all of New South Wales’ requirements in order to be able to administer medication. Parents must obey strict guidelines set by New South Wales.

Medications are only given if the proper forms are signed by parent and physician and given to us along with the medication in its original container, labeled with the child’s full name. According to New South Wales regulations, all paperwork must be completely filled out and submitted before administering medication to any child.

Q: Are any family events scheduled throughout the year?

Yes, we have our Children's Christmas party that includes a barbeque, meeting with Santa, face fainting, arts and crafts. We also have classroom parties and events throughout the year that we invite parents and families to.

Q: Do parents have to volunteer their time at the center?

No, but they may visit their child’s classroom at any time. We have an open door policy for parents.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30am-6:00pm.
